Klinsky, Yuri Nikolaevich

Born in the family of engineer of the Voronezh Aviation Plant Nikolai Mitrofanovich Klinsky and his wife Maria Kuzminichna Klinsky. At school, Yuri did not stand out anything special. He studied satisfactorily, but he had an irresistible passion for music. His father instilled a passion for versification, he wrote poetry and tried to publish it. Yura learned early about the existence of Western rock culture, as rock and roll often sounded in the Klinsky family. Soon after, he decided to master the guitar on his own. Father’s lessons were not in vain, so Yura began to compose poems, which then formed his first songs.

Youth and career start

After graduating from Voronezh secondary school No. 30 ^{[1] [2]} (1981), located in the VAI microdistrict, he worked at a factory and at the same time studied at DOSAAF as a ZIL-130 driver. Before the army, he met his future wife Galina. He served in the Far East (in Blagoveshchensk ) in the tank forces (in the battalion of the educational process of the Blagoveshchensk Higher Tank Command School ) as a driver . Retired in 1984 . After serving in the army, Yuri worked for about three years as a traffic police inspector, and in the last months of the contract he served in private security ^[3] , then worked as a milling machine operator , a CNC machine operator on the Voronezh Videophone and a loader. In his free time, he played acoustic guitar and wrote songs. He was fond of watching horror films, as well as reading mystical literature, which became one of the sources of inspiration in the future.

He perceived his work as a hobby , not even dreaming of a big stage.

He recorded an acoustic album on a tape recorder in 1981 and partially re-recorded it in 1985. After the opening of the Voronezh rock club in 1987, he became his regular. On December 5, a concert was held at the club, at which Yuri performed several songs of his own composition.

For six months, he performed solo under the name "Gas Sector", obtained by the nickname of the part of the Left Bank region of Voronezh, known for the tense environmental situation and the criminal situation. The first electrical composition of the team was formed only in June 1988 and subsequently changed frequently.

The group of Yuri Klinsky received universal fame in 1990 after the release of the albums "The Evil Dead " and " Yadrena Louse ." The success of a simple Voronezh guy was made possible thanks to Gorbachev's perestroika , hungry for forbidden topics. There was no censorship for him; he sang about everything and everything. Due to the abundance of profanity in the lyrics, the Gaza Strip remained in the underground for a long time. Yuri Klinsky in those years worked first in a consumer electronics factory, then as a loader; music did not bring money. Until 1991, the group did not give concerts outside Voronezh (with the exception of the only performance in Cherepovets in 1989). Records of the Gas Sector were distributed throughout the country by fans. The whole USSR knew the songs of Khoya, and the fans did not at first imagine how their idol looks, taking advantage of this, doubles traveled around the country and gave concerts to the group's soundtracks.

As for the pseudonym, it came from Yuri's corporate cry: “ Hoi !”, Which he often uttered during his speeches, and also used in his work. According to Klinsky himself, he began to use the word “hoi” in everyday life after a long listening to the “ Civil Defense ” group ^[4] . But in the last years of his life, Jura began to use it less.

Image and Style

At the dawn of his work, Yuri created for himself the image of a lone rebel and a swindler. Outwardly, he looked like one of the representatives of Soviet punk, and despite the fact that punks in the USSR sometimes differed from each other, both in ideology and in appearance - depending on where they lived, still classic punk Hoi himself never counted. On stage, he knew how to transform - there he was uncompromising and tough, and in life he was kind and cheerful, a man of great souls, but in the aggregate he possessed powerful energy and charisma. Basically, he did what he personally liked, without being attached to a particular style. Indeed, musically his albums were diverse.

Since the mid-1990s, Yuri has gradually moved away from the image he created, changing the style of the group and radically his own - expensive shoes, trousers appear instead of leather jackets , leather vests, glovelettes, ripped jeans, old T-shirts, army shoes and other rock paraphernalia shirts and pullovers. Yuri admitted that he softened with age, the anger and stupidity of youth gave way to intelligence and maturity. Having passed this stage, he strove to progress and improve. Regarding the image, he had a position: talk less about the group, since the lack of complete information causes the audience more hype, contributing to the growth of rumors and legends about the Gaza Strip.

Creativity

A large layer of Yuri Klinsky’s work is devoted to the acute social problems of the time of perestroika , the “ dashing 90s ”, as well as the theme of the afterlife and mysticism . In his songs, he tried to take into account the events of public and personal life, people's actions, everyday everyday situations, while using profanity in the texts of some compositions.

His work aroused either deep interest or protest from the audience. It is believed that thanks to perestroika, the acutely social songs abounding with obscene vocabulary of the Gaza Strip were able to reach the hearts of the people, and Hoi thus gained popularity among the audience yearning for forbidden topics. But nevertheless, Hoey, in spite of the common stereotype, tried not to abuse it. Obscene expressions and jargon in his songs convey the character and characteristics of the characters' speech.

The work of the Gas Sector was often called pseudo-folklore ditties or a folk parody of established musical genres. Hoy used elements of obviously folkloric origin in his songs. In 1997, Artemy Troitsky, in an interview with Khoy and Nadezhda Babkina, calls sector work “extreme informal folk music,” and Khoy agrees with this definition of his work.

During his creative career, Klinsky never made a lot of money because of the prosperity of “piracy,” which affected the number of licensed discs sold, which amounted to about 1% of the total. However, the group and its leader have become very famous in Russia and the CIS . Despite the fact that the band’s later texts were more restrained, the majority of fans and music industry representatives associated the Gas Sector with obscene language and obscene songs.

During his creative career, Yuri went on tour in many cities of Russia and abroad ( Belarus , Germany , Israel , Kazakhstan , Latvia , Lithuania , Moldova , Ukraine , Estonia ).

Death

On July 4, 2000 at 12:37 in Voronezh, Yuri died in a private house on Barnaulskaya Street. On this day, he was going to go to the shooting of the video clip “Night of Fear” at the Voronezh studio “Art-Prize”. NTV cameraman Oleg Zolotarev (on the RTR program on the Tower program) in the fall of 2000 recalled working together on the video “Night of Fear”:

There were many rumors about the Klinsky’s death: according to the official version, he died of a heart attack , although he had not had any heart problems before. According to an unofficial version, Yuri had previously taken drugs (combined with severe alcohol dependence) and suffered from hepatitis , which caused death. An ambulance arrived at the house too late ^[6] . Until now, the circumstances of death remain unclear ^[7] , and there are no data on the autopsy . Police did not conduct a detailed investigation ^[6] .

The last studio work of Yuri Klinsky and the Gaza Strip group was the album HellRaiser , released after his death.

The death of Yuri was preceded by strange circumstances. So, at his last concert, he tried to perform the song “Demobilization” to the backing track, but failed to do this and simply left the stage. The group’s sound engineer Andrei Deltsov recommended the same song when recording the last album “HellRaiser”, to be included in the next album (it allegedly did not fit the style), but Yuri convinced the sound engineer not to do this, fearing not to live up to the next album ^[8] .

In one of the songs, he also sang: “The gas sector - here you can’t live until forty,” and by coincidence, he did not live 23 days until the 36th birthday. The song “Vampire Bite” also contains words describing his death, which later became prophetic:

According to Olga Samarina, Klinsky’s really had a burning sensation in his chest right before death - “blood runs through the veins with boiling water”, “everything burns with fire”.

The funeral took place on July 6, 2000 in Voronezh. Farewell took place in the recreation center "Luch", where, despite the heavy rain, many Voronezh residents came to say goodbye to Yuri. A funeral service was held at the Assumption Church . Then the body of Yuri Klinsky was interred in the Left Bank cemetery (cemetery "on the tanks", southeastern part, plot 7a).

Father - Nikolai Mitrofanovich Klinsky (June 15, 1935 - August 23, 2005), until retirement he worked as an engineer at the Voronezh Aviation Plant.

Mother - Maria Kuzminichna Klinsky (Vlasheva) (August 25, 1932 - September 3, 2017), before retirement she worked as a riveter at the Voronezh Aviation Plant ^[9] .

Brothers (uterine) - Anatoly and Leonid Yapryntsevs.

Wife - Galina Klinsky (born September 17, 1962), after the death of Yuri, she never married, lives with her youngest daughter.

Two daughters - Irina Melekhovets (Klinsky; born on August 3, 1986) - a psychologist, graduated from VGPU and Lilia Klinsky (born on January 13, 1995) - graduated from the magistracy of Voronezh State University , is an employee of Lukoil . The eldest daughter has a son, Matthew (born June 27, 2011).

In 1991, at his concert in Moscow, he met Olga Samarina (born April 13, 1975) ^[10] , whom he later met with during the last years of his life, without hiding it from his wife Galina. According to loved ones, it was Olga who addicted Yuri to drug use ^[11] .

• Yuri Klinsky never received a musical education.
• Despite the scenic image of a rebel and “swindler”, Yuri was modest and polite when communicating with journalists and fans.
• In 1989 or 1990, Yuri took part (as a backing vocalist), along with the rest of the Sector, in the recording (at the Black Box studio) of the song “15 people on the dead man’s chest” (included in the 1990 album “Hangover” under the name "Chest and the Dead") of the Voronezh musician Andrei (Boniface) Koltakov. ^{[12] [13]}
• He had a positive attitude to rap , which he repeatedly spoke about in his interviews. He was also interested in the work of the group “ Red Hot Chili Peppers ” and in an interview he said that he personally talked with the drummer of the group on tour and in the album “Kashchei the Immortal” used the motives of their songs “ Fight Like a Brave ” and “ Give It Away ”.
• Yuri Klinsky never joined the party, although he had the certificate of an assistant deputy ^[14] . Despite this, the Gaza Strip performed at LDPR concerts. Klinsky commented as follows:

• At one of the concerts from the LDPR, he was awarded the diploma "For the development of domestic culture." ^[15]
• There is a legend that the work of the Gas Sector group was liked by Yuri Nikulin . Nikolai Mitrofanovich, father of Yuri Klinsky, once told a story when Yuri was invited to the dressing room of the legendary artist after a concert in the circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard . Under the words of admiration and gratitude, Nikulin took out a bottle of cognac and invited Hoi to talk. The artist himself was so flattered by these compliments that he often told his friends and relatives about this incident. ^[sixteen]
• In 1999, Yuri Klinsky became a character in the comic book "The Adventures of Yuri Khoy in the Realm of Evil." The comic consists of fabulous adventures, the hero of which is the leader of the Gas Sector, collecting his albums. The author of the comic is the artist Dmitry Samborsky.

• 27 марта 2007 года на телеканале НТВ в телепередаче « Чистосердечное признание » в эфир вышли сюжеты про вдов известных артистов, один из которых был посвящён вдове Юрия Клинских Галине ^[19] .
• 5 октября 2008 года памяти Юрия Клинских был посвящён короткий фильм, показанный на телеканале НТВ в телепередаче « Главный герой » ^[20] .
• В 2014 году было объявлено о разработке полнометражного фильма ужасов по мотивам песен Юрия Хоя, под рабочим названием «Дракула Хой», которое впоследствии было изменено на «Хой против нечистой силы» ^[21] . • В октябре 2001 года вышла книга Владимира Тихомирова «„Хой!“ Эпитафия рок-раздолбаю» — иллюстрированная история жизни и творчества Юрия Клинских и группы «Сектор газа».
• В 2004 году вышла книга «„Сектор газа“ глазами близких». Книга содержит воспоминания близких Юрия Клинских, статьи, интервью, малоизвестные факты из жизни группы «Сектор Газа» и её лидера, воспоминания поклонников, стихи, посвященные Юрию Клинских.
• В июле 2015 года вышла электронная книга Аслана Курбанова «Говорит Хой: Прямая речь Юрия Клинских» — собрание ранее не публиковавшихся интервью Юрия Клинских. А в июле 2017 года объявлено о выходе её печатной версии ^[25] .

Музыка

• В июне 2002 года группа «Сектор газовой атаки» выпустила свой дебютный альбом, который посвятила памяти Клинских.
• В 2005 году звукозаписывающая студия «Gala Records» выпустила трибьют-альбом группе «Сектор газа», в котором участвовали такие группы и исполнители, как: « НАИВ », « Кирпичи », Сергей Кагадеев (eх-« НОМ »), « Монгол Шуудан », « Бахыт-Компот », Игорь Кущев (eх-«Сектор газа») и другие.

• 11 декабря 2015 года в Москве на сцене клуба «Stadium Live» прошёл большой концерт памяти Юрия Хоя. В этот вечер песни группы «Сектор Газа» исполняли коллективы и музыканты: «С. Г.», «Чёрный Вторник» и Владимир Лобанов, « Монгол Шуудан », « The Matrixx » и Юлия Коган , « Бахыт-Компот », « Красная Плесень ». • 23 декабря 2016 на YouTube появилась перепевка песни «Лирика» на современный лад с женским вокалом. Авторы кавера, Filatov & Karas , назвали эту песню «переосмыслением» хита группы.
• 10 декабря 2017 года в московском клубе «Театръ», при участии старшей дочери Юрия Хоя — Ирины Клинских и некоторых музыкантов «Сектора Газа», а также коллективов, близких по духу, прошёл большой фестиваль, посвящённый юбилею рок-группы «Сектор Газа». Аналогичное мероприятие состоялось днём ранее в клубе «Зал ожидания» (Санкт-Петербург). ^[35]
• 17 ноября 2018 года в минском клубе «Re:Public» при участии старшей дочери Юрия Хоя — Ирины Клинских, некоторых музыкантов «Сектора Газа» (Владимир Лобанов,Татьяна Фатеева), а также коллективов « Красная плесень », «Сектор Газовой Атаки», «Черный Вторник» состоялся юбилейный концерт посвященный 30-летию группы.

• 28 июня 2011 года на могиле Юрия Клинских был установлен надгробный памятник. ^[36]
• В 2012 году изготовлен виртуальный тур по могиле Юрия Клинских. ^[37]
• 27 июля 2014 года, в день 50-летия со дня рождения Юрия Клинских в Воронеже планировалась установка памятника в виде скульптуры во весь рост ^[38] , но городские власти не согласовали предложенный эскиз памятника, поэтому рассмотрение данного вопроса перенесли на поздние сроки.
