History

Very little is known about the fate of this vessel: information is limited to indicating the original name of the tug (“Caucasus”) and the date of its entry into the forces of the Black Sea Fleet of the Soviet Union ( August 26, 1941 ).

September 2, 1942 "Proletarian", being in the flotilla of boats, was attacked by German torpedo boats, fired (judging by archive data) 9 torpedoes. The vessel, having received serious damage, sank at a shallow depth, 20 meters from one of the beaches of the Blagoveshchenskaya stanitsa (Anapa district of the Krasnodar Territory ). The fate of the tug crew in the historical chronicles is not reported.

Current State

The tug "Proletary" lies at a depth of 3 meters, and the place of its current location is marked with an identification buoy of white. The wreckage of the vessel is a well-preserved nasal fragment 1–1.5 m long with an elevation above the ground of 1.7 m with remnants of the sides, the elevation of which above the bottom smoothly goes from 0.8 m (closer to the nasal section) to 0.1 m. "Is 10-11 m. The surface of the vessel is covered with relatively small mussel shells; internal cavities are covered with sand .
