The pioneer tie is a red neck scarf tied in front by a special knot, a symbol of belonging to a pioneer organization , a symbolic particle of the banner of a pioneer organization. The three ends of the tie symbolize the unbreakable bond of three generations: the Communists , Komsomol members and the pioneers .

History

During its existence, pioneer tie has undergone a number of changes.

At the beginning, the tie was not tied, but fastened with a special clip, on which the pioneer symbolism was depicted - a fire against the sickle and hammer , surrounded by the inscription “ Always ready! ". The image of the five logs of the fire and the three tongues of its flame symbolized the five continents and the Communist International , which was supposed to ignite the flame of revolution on these continents. The ends of the tie were threaded into the top of the clip with the retainer open, which was tilted by pressing your thumb. Holding the ends of the tie with one hand, with the other hand, the clamp was tightened up to the level of the neck and, releasing the retainer, fastened the ends of the tie.

Due to the complexity of manufacturing, the clamps did not receive a truly wide distribution, and pioneer ties were already tied with a special knot from the moment of their inception in most cases.

The special knot of the pioneer tie was simple in execution: children were quite easily accustomed to doing two simple knots so that the right end of the tie was always worn on top of the left (or vice versa) [1] .

Pioneer ties were produced in various shades of red and from various fabrics. The most popular was the production of red-orange neckties from acetate silk . In the straightened state, such a tie is an isosceles triangle with a base of 100 cm and a height of 30 cm (sides approximately 58.3 cm). The mass model was produced by the method of hot trimming and began to bloom at the edges after a few years of wearing. Stitches along the edges were difficult to buy, they differed slightly darker than scarlet, in color - closer to red.

There was a period when the chairmen of the brigades wore red ties with a yellow border.

Tie Clip History

For some time, a tie clip with pioneer symbols coexisted with a pioneer badge. Later, in connection with the improvement of pioneer symbolism and in connection with the more widespread pioneer badge, tie clips were supplanted as a duplicate element of pioneer paraphernalia.

This was facilitated by a psychological moment: at the end of the 1930s, the imagination of some Komsomol leaders saw the Nazi swastika , Trotsky's profile and the letter “Z” in the symbolism of a tie clip, which meant, in their opinion, the name of the “enemy of the people” Zinoviev . Because of these rumors in schools and pioneer camps began mass refusals to wear a pioneer tie and clips to them. In this regard, a special investigation was conducted by the Central Committee and the NKVD , which did not find anything like this and condemned the harmful rumors.

The final tie clips are a thing of the past since the early 1960s.

Pioneer tie in art

Pioneer tie devoted a lot of literary works. One of the most famous is the poem of the same name by Stepan Shchipachyov [2] .
