The main activity of "CAI" is the preparation and publication of the AIP - a collection of aeronautical information of the Russian Federation - a state document, the right to edition is delegated to "CAI".

AIP contains the necessary information for the safe operation of flights in the airspace of Russia on international air routes. The AIP includes information on all international airports in Russia and some CIS countries, requirements for the organization and management of air traffic , customs, border and sanitary control, administrative formalities. The structure of the AIP of Russia meets the current requirements, standards and recommendations of the ICAO .

In addition, the CAI publishes for use by the crews of Russian airlines collections of aeronautical information of airports in the regions of Russia, in the CIS countries and abroad. Since 2009, CAI has been publishing collections of aeronautical information on military aerodromes in Russia (previously, this function was performed by the Air Navigation Information Service of the Russian Air Force ).

In "CAI" operates round-the-clock service NOTAM , providing reception and processing of operational information associated with changes in the aeronautical environment, which are temporary in nature, as well as prompt notification of these changes to consumers.

From June 1, 2018, the FSUE "TSAI" became a branch of the FSUE "State ATM Corporation"
