Reggiane Re.2001

Reggian Re.2001 Ariete I (Falco II) ( Italian: Reggiane Re.2001 Ariete I (Falco II) , Falcon ) - a single Italian fighter of World War II . The aircraft was developed in the design bureau of the company Reggian Officine Mexican Italian under the leadership of Roberto Longa . Serial production of the aircraft lasted from September 1941 to September 1943. A total of 237 aircraft were produced.

The aircraft entered the Italian Air Force in October 1941. Italian fighters began to participate in hostilities from May 1942 during the raids on Malta . Since the beginning of 1943, aircraft were transferred to air defense of the northern part of the country. After surrender, they were used by the pro-German republic of Salo .
