Pentax S2 Super is a small-format single - lens reflex camera manufactured by Asahi Optical from 1962 to 1968 in black and black and silver [2] . In total, about 52,500 cameras of this model were produced, after which it was discontinued [2] . The model was not intended for export and was, in fact, a slightly simplified version of the Pentax SV camera for marketing purposes. There are no camera versions with other Honeywell designations.

Pentax SV Differences
For the sake of low cost, there was no self-timer in the S2 Super, and the disc around the rewind tape looked like a S1 camera. The camera was equipped with a whale lens : “Super-Takumar 55 mm 1: 2”, which could be fully aperture (closing and opening) automatically. This allowed focusing with an open aperture, which simplified the task (especially in low light conditions). The older model Pentax SV was equipped with a faster lens “Super-Takumar 55mm 1: 1.8”. According to some sources, these lenses were not optically any different [3] .
Otherwise, the camera is completely similar. As in SV, shutter speeds were set by a single drive on the top of the camera. The set of shutter shutter speeds remained unchanged: 1/1000, 1/500, 1/125, 1/60, 1/30, 1/15, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1 s, T and B . The appearance of the shot counter remained the same as in SV: most of it was now hidden under the central part of the shutter cocking lever. Only the number that displayed the current counter value was visible. A tiny indicator window next to the shutter button signaled red if the shutter was cocked. This innovation first appeared in the company on the S2 model and was present in all threaded models, KM , KX , and K1000 [3] . The camera had protection against double exposure of the frame, the platoon of a mechanical focal-plane shutter with a horizontal stroke of the fabric curtain was carried out by a lever borrowed from Asahi Pentax . A pair of sync contacts FP and X have also been preserved.
During the production period of this camera, the Asahi Pentax Meter compact exposuremeter, which is put on top of a pentaprism, began to be produced. To install it, a special notch on the shutter speed disk (near shutter speed T ) was required. When clinging to the shutter speed dial with the notch on the last and the tooth on the light meter, the exposure meter could take into account the set shutter speed or set it on the contrary (the shutter speed was set by the photographer, but using the dial on the light meter and at his prompt).
Compatibility
Asahi Pentax S2 Super is compatible with any lens with M37 × 1 thread (using an adapter) or M42 × 1 with a 45.5 mm working distance.
