The Reichskommissariat Kavkaz ( German: Reichskommissariat Kaukasien ) is the Reichskommissariat of the Third Reich , which was planned to be created on the USSR lands at the time of the war, the Caucasus , from the borders with Turkey and Iran in the south , to the Don and Volga rivers in the north (including the territory of the Astrakhan region ) [1 ] . The capital was supposed to be Tbilisi . As part of the Reich Commissariat, it was planned to create national entities as autonomous (free, within the framework of the Reich Commissariat) units. The basis of the economy of this region would be oil production and agriculture .

On the territory of the Highland Commissariat there was a militia of the Highlanders Bergmann Special Purpose Battalion . In the capital of Vladikavkaz, the National Socialist Party of the North Caucasian Brothers began to function, the ideology of which combined federalism, xenophobia and pro-German foreign policy.
