Possible routes in the Eric the Red Saga and the Greenland Saga
Vinland sagas - two Icelandic sagas :
- The Saga of Eric the Red (Eiríks saga rauða)
- The Greenland Saga (Grœnlendinga saga)
These sagas were written approximately 250 years after the colonization of Greenland and are a significant source of information about past events. Although some of the data in them are contradictory, but historians agree that these two sagas are an important source of information about Viking travels to America . Confirmation of the truth of the events described in them was the discovery of a Viking settlement in L'Ans-o-Meadows in Newfoundland .
