History
Formed on December 6, 1856 as the 20th Army Rifle Battalion .
March 18, 1857 - renamed the 20th Rifle Battalion .
In 1858-1865 he participated in the Caucasian campaigns .
From August 31, 1870 - the 3rd Caucasian Rifle Battalion .
In 1877-1878 he participated in the Russian-Turkish war .
By February 20, 1910, it was reorganized into a double-battalion regiment and the 3rd Caucasian Rifle Regiment was named.
In 1915, the regiment was brought into a four-battalion composition.
Regimental holiday - December 6th.
Regiment Insignia
- St. George regimental banner with the inscription: "For the excellence in the Turkish war of 1877 and 1878."
- Breastplates for officers and flags for lower ranks with the inscription: "For the Caucasian War" (in the 1st battalion of the regiment).
- St. George silver signal horns with the inscription: "For excellence in the battle of the Virgin Boyne October 23, 1877" (in the 1st battalion of the regiment).
