Story

At the weekly dance evening hosted by the Chinese diaspora in New York , Wil ( Michel Krusietz ), a young surgeon, met Vivian ( Chen Lin ), a dancer. Sympathy arises between them and Vivian seeks further acquaintance with Ville. They start a romance. Meanwhile, Wil's mother ( Joan Chen ) is driven out by her parents, as she became pregnant and does not say whom. Considering this a huge shame for the whole family, Wil's grandfather does not want to see his daughter anymore, and Wil has to shelter his mother.

Vivian is offered a contract in Paris , but she doubts whether to agree to it because she loves Wil and does not want to leave her. The timid Will is shy of relations with Vivian, and she, offended, eventually flies to Europe.

Wil's mother is going to get married to hide the disgrace of having a fatherless child. However, Wil learns that his father is actually one of the Chinese people living in New York, a young man much younger than her mother. It was because of this that the mother did not want to tell anyone who the father of the child was. Having learned the truth, Wil breaks the mother’s wedding, urging her to be with her beloved. At the wedding ceremony, everything opens and Wil's mother escapes from the crown.

Having met three months later with Vivian at a dance evening, Wil overcomes the fear of condemnation by people and openly invites his beloved to a dance.
