The common whitestar thrush [2] ( lat. Pogonocichla stellata ) is an African species of passerines from the family of flycatchers (Muscicapidae), isolated in the monotypic genus Pogonocichla [3] . Birds inhabit plantations, rural gardens, subtropical and tropical lowland and mountain humid forests, as well as (lowland) wet and arid shrublands [4] . The body length is 15-16 cm [5] .
