History

Formed on August 26, 1874 as the Odessa local infantry battalion.

On August 31, 1878, it was reorganized into the 49th reserve personnel infantry battalion.

On March 25, 1891 it was renamed the 230th Izmail Reserve Battalion.

May 26, 1899 - 205th Izmail Reserve Battalion.

In 1900, he allocated a company to form the Port Arthur Fortress Infantry Regiment.

By 1904 it was reorganized into a regiment of double-battalion.

In October 1904 he was mobilized. The first battalion of the regiment deployed in 4 battalions.

From the second battalion of the regiment, the 273rd Danube Infantry Regiment of the second stage was formed.

By May 1, 1906 was brought into the double-battalion.

From February 20, 1910 - the 189th Izmail Infantry Regiment , at the same time two units were attached to the regiment:

  1. The 233rd Sur Reserve Reserve Battalion , which traces its history to the Nizhny Novgorod Provincial Semi- Battalion formed on January 17, 1811.
  2. The 214th Moksha Reserve Regiment , formed on January 19, 1878 as the 59th Reserve Battalion , brought to the regiment the lapel badges for officers and the leading ones for lower ranks insignia "For excellence in the war against Japan in 1904 and 1905."

Regiment Insignia

  1. A simple regimental banner, granted in 1911 with the inscription "1811-1911" and the Alexander anniversary ribbon.
  2. In the 2nd and 4th battalions, insignia (breastplates for officers, hats at the lower ranks) with the inscription: "For excellence in the war with Japan in 1904 and 1905". Highest Order July 30, 1911.
