Interesting Facts
- The libretto of the film restored by V. D. Khanzhonkova.
- Vishnevsky in the article “Thirty years ago. Leaflets from the film archive ”, released in 1937, relates the film to 1906:
This information was obtained from K. Abramovich, who accidentally survived one copy. By the nature of the production, “editing,” actor’s and camera work, an indication of Abramovich for 1906 seems quite probable.
However, already in 1945, Vishnevsky took the film to 1909 in the “Feature films of pre-revolutionary Russia” catalog. V. M. Korotky writes about this:
Why later Wisniewski carried the film to 1909, remains unclear. However, that this is Goncharov's first film, he had no doubt [2] . Vishnevsky defined the film as an extremely unsuccessful attempt to play one of the sensational processes. One way or another, it is important to note that if the film was really shot in the winter of 1906 \ 07, then this is the first Russian film currently known and, therefore, game cinema in Russia began with a modern, up-to-date plot, which caused the film to be banned for the first time. same day after release on screen [3] .
