Tajikabad district ( Tajik. Noҳiyai Toҷikobod ) is a district of republican subordination in Tajikistan . The regional center is the village of Tajikabad .

The area was formed by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Tajik USSR on August 12, 1949 as a result of the merger of the Kalai-Lyabio and Khait districts of the Garm region with the simultaneous renaming of the village of Kalai-Lyabio and Tajikabad [2] .

Geography
Tajikabad district is located in the Rasht valley. In the northeast, it borders with the Lakhsh district , in the northwest with the Rasht district , in the south and west with the Sangvor region .

The population as of January 1, 2016 is 42,000 people (100% is rural) [1] .

The head of government of the Tajikabad region is the Chairman of the Hukumat. The legislative body of the Tajikabad region is the Majlis of people's deputies, which is popularly elected for 5 years.
