Caniza

Kaniza ( Serb. Kážizha , Hungarian. Magyarkanizsa ) is a city in Serbia , in the community of Kaniza , in the North Banat region of the autonomous region of Vojvodina , in the historical and geographical region of Banat . According to the 2002 census of Serbia, 10,200 residents lived in the city (according to the 1991 census , 11,541 residents).

Title

Stara Kanizha the modern Kanizha bore such a name before the outbreak of the First World War , to distinguish it from Nova Kanizha , which was on the other side of the Tisza . When the city of Nova Kaniza was renamed Novi Knezhevac , Stara Kaniza was simply called Kaniza .

Demographics

According to the 2002 census, the city of Kanizha had 8318 adult residents, whose average age was 41.0 years (39.5 years for men and 42.5 years for women). There are 4,025 households in the city, and the average number of residents in households is 2.52.

According to the results of the last three censuses, a decrease in the number of inhabitants is observed.
