A member of the CPSU since 1940, a candidate member of the Central Committee of the CPSU in 1966-1986. Member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR 5-11 convocations (1958-87).
Biography
He graduated from the Mogilev Pedagogical Institute (in absentia) in 1936 and the Higher School of Economics at the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks (b) in 1942.
Since 1930, he worked as a teacher in the Vitebsk region,
In 1942-1947 in the apparatus of the Central Committee of the CPSU (b),
In 1947-1948 in the apparatus of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (b) of Belarus,
In 1948-1956 Secretary of the Minsk Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus,
In 1956-1960 First Secretary of the Minsk Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus,
In 1960-1965 Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus, at the same time - Chairman of the Supreme Council of the BSSR (1963–65).
In 1965-1986 Head of the Department of Culture of the Central Committee of the CPSU.
Since 1986, retired.
He was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery (study 5) [1] .
Known for his covert fight with A. N. Yakovlev when he was. about. Head of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the CPSU (1969-1973). In this fight he emerged victorious (with the support of writers and scientists), Yakovlev was removed from his post. After Yakovlev returned to work in the apparatus of the Central Committee of the CPSU (1986), Shauro was retired.
