The yellow-headed corpse [1] ( lat. Xanthocephalus xanthocephalus ) is a North American species of passerine birds from the family of cadavers ( Icteridae ), distinguished into the monotypic genus Xanthocephalus [2] . This species is widespread in North America , as well as in Central America ( Mexico , Panama , Saint Pierre and Miquelon , Bahamas ), but in Central America, as in Greenland , it is a migratory one [3] . Body length - 22.5-28 cm [4] .

The plumage of males is black with a bright yellow plumage of the head and chest; on the front side there is, as it were, a mask of black feathers located from the base of the beak and around the eyes; there are white spots on the wings [5] .
