TeamViewer ( [tiːm'vjuːə] - timber viewer ) is a software package for remotely controlling computers, exchanging files between host and managed machines, video calling and web conferencing. TeamViewer runs on the operating systems Windows , Mac OS X , Linux , iOS, and Android [13] [14] .
In addition to a direct connection, access is possible through a firewall and NAT proxy ; it is possible to gain access to a remote machine through a web browser [15] .
TeamViewer GmbH was founded in 2005 in Germany . According to the company's press releases, TeamViewer is used on more than 15 million computers operating in fifty countries of the world [16] .

Linking
TeamViewer can work with the installation or without it - in the latter case, the program works without administrator access rights. To establish communication, TeamViewer must be running on both machines. When you start TeamViewer, a computer ID and password are created . To establish communication between computers, the client operator must contact the remote operator and find out its ID and password , and then enter them into the TeamViewer client [17] .
TeamViewer can also establish a connection with a remote computer using a browser with Flash technology [18] .
VPN
TeamViewer allows you to establish VPN (Virtual Private Network) connections between the client and server. It is possible to download individual program modules (client and server) from the manufacturer’s website. You can also configure the client module with a predefined password and your own logo on the manufacturer’s website, compile and immediately download it. However, without a license, communication in this case is possible for no more than 5 minutes per session. The proposed modules without their own presets do not have such restrictions.
These modules do not require installation and are easy to use. Video, voice, and text chat between computers is possible.
Versions
- TeamViewer is free for personal use [19] .
- For commercial use, you need to buy the full version of the product. In the full version, there is no window pop-up at each connection, it can be launched on server operating systems, client modules can be configured (company logo and individual greeting) [20] .
- Starting April 10, 2018, TeamViewer is available in Russia only by subscription. Until April 2018, the license for TeamViewer was purchased on an unlimited basis: the product was purchased once, but when a new version was released, users had to buy an update in order to be able to use this new version.
