Biography

Elena Fadeeva was born on March 25 ( April 7 ), 1914 (according to other sources - March 12 (25), 1914 [1] ) in Moscow in the family of a doctor.

She lost her parents early - at first the father abandoned the family, and soon the mother died of typhus. At the age of seven, she remained in the care of her grandfather and aunt. After graduating from the Soviet labor school in 1929, she entered the College of the Fat, Perfume and Bone Processing Industries College, but was forced to leave him due to illness. From 1932 to 1934 she worked as a laboratory assistant at the Department of Biochemistry at the Moscow Medical Institute [2] .

In 1934, she entered the Theater School at the Moscow Art Theater 2 , where she met with Ivan Bersenev , who at that time headed the theater and taught acting at the school [3] . In 1936, the Moscow Art Theater 2 was closed and she moved to the Theater School at the Theater. E. Vakhtangov (now the Boris Schukin Theater Institute ) [4] .

In 1938, I. Bersenev was appointed artistic director of the Moscow Theater. Lenin Komsomol ("Lenkom") and invited a former student to his new theater. All the subsequent life of the actress was associated with Lenkom.

During the war , in 1941 - 1943 , she served in the front-line branch of the Theater. E. Vakhtangova .

She made her film debut in 1954.

Member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of 8–9 convocations (1970–1979) [5] .

Died July 29, 1999 in Moscow. She was buried at the Golovinsky cemetery (4 sites).
