Biography
Arkady Vovsi was born in Riga on May 1, 1900 [1] (according to other sources, in 1899 ) in the family of wood sorter Gershon Leibovich Vovsi, a native of Dvinsk , and Mushka Rosenfeld, who married in 1898 in Riga.
He studied at the studio of M. A. Chekhov . Upon completion in 1926, GITIS [2] played on the stage of the theater in Zamoskvorechye. In 1930 he moved to the Moscow Art Theater 2nd . In 1936-1938 and in 1954-1955 he worked in the theater. Moscow City Council . Since 1938, he was a member of the troupe of the Lenin Komsomol Theater , and played many roles on the stage of this theater [2] .
The work of Arkady Vovsi combined the exact character of the image, soft lyricism and subtle humor with a touch of sadness. He skillfully revealed the inner world of man [1] .
Arkady Grigoryevich also worked as a director and director, he staged performances on the stage of the Lenin Komsomol Theater and in the Moscow Youth Theater [1] . Since 1937 he taught at GITIS , since 1959 - associate professor .
A.G. Vovsi died on June 29, 1971 . He was buried in Moscow at the Vagankovsky cemetery .
