Joyce turned pro in 2006. In 2008, he reached the final of the Masters qualifying tournament , but lost to Judd Trump .

The first big success in his professional career came in the season 2010/2011 , where Mark Joyce managed to reach the final stage of the UK Championship , passing through 4 qualifying rounds (there he defeated Jack Jones , Elfy Burden , Marcus Campbell and Steve Davis ). But then Mark did not lose his head. At 1/16, he sensationally defeats Ali Carter , 9: 6, then, in the 1/8 final in an equal match, wins Judd Trump, 9: 8, and as a result, in the hardest match, the quarter-finals are inferior to Mark Williams with a score of 7: 9. Joyce made his best break until - 143 points. The same break was the highest in the tournament, which brought Mark £ 5,000.
