History
The group met in 1988 in the city of Lviv as a result of the unification of several groups. The first composition: Sergey "Kuzya" Kuzminsky (vocals, keyboards, songs); Alexander "Shulya" Emets (saxophone); Andrei Partik (guitar); Mikhail Lundin (drums); Alexander Hamburg (bass, vocals). The name of the group came up with Alexander Emets; it comes from the name of one of the characters in the story “The Death of the Spy Gadiukin”, written by Soviet children's writer Viktor Dragoon , who was popular in the 1960s.
In 1989 the group took part in the Moscow Syrok-89 festival. The language in which the songs were performed is a mixture of Western Ukrainian surzhik , Galician dialect, separate Polish and Russian words, pronounced with Lemkiv accent.
After this, the fully Ukrainian-language program “Our Answer to Kobzon ” was prepared. In May 1989, The Vipers recorded their first album, Vso Chotko! And then five more songs for Vika Vradiy . At the festival “ Chervona Ruta ” in Chernivtsi “Brothers Gadyukiny” were the second after Vika Vradiy. In December 1989, Alla Pugacheva invited the Brothers to the show Christmas Meetings . The founder of the group, Alexander Yemtsa, who left the group in the summer, was replaced by keyboard player Igor “Kolbasik” Melnichuk. In the new line-up in Moscow, the album “VSHO CHOTKO!” Is being rewritten and the work on the new “Talking Moscow !” Begins, for several reasons, not completed.
The new program “Brothers Hadiukins” was created gradually: they returned to the roots musically - to black rhythm and blues , while on the stage more and more attention was paid to the show presented by the corps de ballet and the copper section (Oleg Kachechka, Bogdan Vataschuk, Stepan Koval). In 1991, Alexander Hamburg leaves the group. He chose a career in music career as a professional architect. At the same time, new keyboard player Pavel Krahmalev appeared, Melnichuk switched to bass. In December, a presentation of the new album “My Children from Bandershtat” took place, after half a year “Audio Ukraine” released a vinyl record for sale.
The Brothers Hadiukins, meanwhile, turned into a creative association headed by Elena Markhasyova, having given shelter to three more Ukrainian groups - Weeping Home, Mertvy Piven , Tea Club of Shanuvalnik . In September 1992, "The Viper" held a rock action - a concert-marathon "Do not drink to Ukraine" and fell silent for a year and a half. In early 1994, the group gathered again and recorded a few songs, however, without Sergei Kuzminsky, who was then treated in Belgium for drug addiction.
In July 1994, the Brothers Hadjukins had already presented in full, fragments of a new program, “Bulo dislike”; it was recorded before the end of the year in the studio "Triton" (sound producer Roman Lyusan). In early 1995, Brothers left Yuliya Donchenko and guitarist Andrei Partik (together they created the project “Hawaiian Guitars”). For some time, the guitarist was replaced by Gennady Verbyany from Rudolf Diesel after the new saxophonist Bogdan Yura was taken to the army.
In December 1995, The Hadiukins began recording a new album, “Bai, Bai, Mila” and in parallel (for the third time) rewritten the album “Vsyo Chotko!” For the CD. In the intervals between recordings, Sergey Kuzminsky (already as DJ Pubert) and backing vocalist UCS Layla Lilya Pavlyk work as DJs on the radio “Capital. Transmutation Program. From the beginning of 1997, Krokhmalev and Melnichuk set up their own recording studio, Gadyukiny Records, in Kiev.
In the spring of 2000, the label “Rostok Records” released the album “ON! LIVE” on CD with live recordings from 1994–1995. Later, the albums “Mi lads z Bandershtadtu” and “Bulo do not love” were reissued.
In 2006, the group resumed concert activities, giving a concert in Kiev.
On August 3, 2009, after a long struggle with a serious illness (cancer of the larynx), at the age of 46 years, the leader of the group Sergey “Kuzya” Kuzminsky died. He was buried on August 6 in Lviv at the Lychakiv Cemetery .
In 2014, the band meets to record the album “MADE IN UKRAINE”.
