Gutter ( eng. Gutter ), also a path or jumper , is similar to printing in philately , the name of the strip between postage stamps in the stamp list , which separates individual sectors from each other, in which a large typographical sheet will be divided into stamp sheets convenient for sale in post offices format.
Description
As typographical sheets, as a rule, are cut in a printing house, they are usually no longer available on stamps issued for circulation. However, sometimes collectors get uncut sheets, and in some cases, sheets are specially printed so that such a path remains on the finished sheet. At times, brand names, emblems, advertising or informational inscriptions or drawings are printed on the hatters.
As a result of differences in the cutting of sheets, depending on the positions in the sheet of the respective brands, different combinations of brands and tracks arise:
- A gutter pair (a gutter pair ; a pair with a track , or a pair with a jumper ) is two postage stamps separated by a gutter (track) [1] .
- A Gatter block or a block with a track is a block of four brands, when either vertical or horizontal pairs, or both, are separated by a track [2] .
Since the stamping on the stamps is perforated in the usual way, the path between the stamps is often the same size as the postage stamp.
