Design
The project was a work on the mistakes made in the design of mine cruisers such as "Ukraine". AG Vulcan Stettin slightly reduced (up to 9: 1) the ratio of length to width and increased the design displacement to 615 tons. This allowed increasing coal reserves to 190 tons. The total capacity of coal pits (reinforced reserves) was up to 220 tons. Contract speed amounted to 25 knots, to maintain it, the capacity of the machines increased to 7300 liters. with.
