Biography
Father, Alexey Alexandrovich Bubnov , since 1943 was the secretary of the Leningrad City Executive Committee; mother - Anna Stepanovna, housewife [1] . On August 31, 1949, A. A. Bubnov was arrested as part of the Leningrad affair , on October 28 or 29 [2] 1950 he was executed (on charges of “criminal connection with the enemies of the people and participation in a counter-revolutionary group”), rehabilitated on May 14, 1954. Members of the Bubnov family were also arrested, Lyudmila’s mother was sent to the Taishet camp, and Lyudmila ended up in the children's labor penal colony in Lviv , where she was until 1953. Thanks to the deputy head of the colony, Victoria Nikolaevna, Lyudmila got the opportunity, while in the colony, to study at a regular city school, and then go to Lviv University (in the Russian department of the philological faculty). After rehabilitation, Bubnov and his family transferred to Leningrad University .
In 1958 she graduated with honors from the philological faculty of Leningrad State University , majoring in Russian Language and Literature, and a student of L. R. Zinder . In 1965 she defended her thesis “Sound units of Russian speech and their relationship with shades and phonemes”, in 1977 - her doctoral dissertation “Contemporary Russian literary pronunciation (Experimental-phonetic research)”.
She worked at the university: senior laboratory assistant (1958-1961), graduate student (1961-1964), junior researcher , assistant, associate professor , since 1979 professor at the department of phonetics and foreign language teaching methods of the philological faculty, since 1985 - head of the department of general linguistics. In 1984-1986 - Vice-rector for Academic Affairs, then the first Vice-Rector, since May 1993 (after the sudden death of S.P. Merkuryev ) - and. about. rector, in April 1994 was elected rector of St. Petersburg State University, re-elected in 1999 and 2004. The first woman rector of St. Petersburg State University. With her, two new faculties were opened at the university: international relations and medical. In 1995, she was elected a full member of the Russian Academy of Education (RAO) , a member of the Presidium of the North-West Branch of RAO. Scientific activity
Representative of the Leningrad phonological school . He is the author of about 300 scientific and educational works in the field of Russian and general linguistics, phonetics , phonology and methods of teaching the Russian language. Her works on the problems of modern pronunciation laid the foundation for new promising areas of linguistics - "Pronunciation norm of the modern Russian literary language" and "The interference of sound systems at the phonetic level."
