Biography

Rehov was born into a Jewish family in Algeria , (the city of Algeria ), which was then a French colony . His ancestors lived in Algeria for almost 500 years. On his website, he writes [1] that, as a child, he experienced what is now called terrorism . At a school in Algeria, classmates called Rehov a "dirty Jew" and extolled Adolf Hitler . As a child, Rehov witnessed two terrorist attacks carried out by Muslim extremists against French rule. He saw with his own eyes how, after the first terrorist attack, people came out and crawled out of the cafe, covered in blood, without arms and without legs. Another attack was committed in his school - then killed his 11 classmates [2] [3] .

In 1961 , a year before the declaration of independence of Algeria , 9-year-old Pierre, along with his mother and younger brother, left for France , where their father was waiting for them [3] . So his family became part of 250 thousand Jews and about a million French who fled from Algeria. He later made a film about Jewish refugees (Silent Exodus), describing the fate of hundreds of thousands of Jews who suffered from Muslim anti-Semitism for centuries, including when Algeria was part of France and expelled from Arab countries after 1948 .

Rekhov said that he was not a pro- Israeli activist until 2000 , when he saw the coverage of Muhammad al-Durr’s death on television and doubted the authenticity of this version. Since then, he has worked mainly in the Palestinian territories and other Arab countries, including Iraq , where he was part of the US Army as a free reporter.

In particular, he insisted on investigating the murder of al-Durr, claiming the child died as a result of shelling by the Arabs. This version is presented in the movie "Decryptage" [4] .

Rekhov claims that in order to be safe while working in the Palestinian Authority , each correspondent must occupy (or pretend to be) a pro-Arab position [2] [3] [5] . By this, he explains the systematic anti-Israeli bias of the media , especially the French .

He advocates the creation of two states for two peoples: the Jews and Arabs of Palestine , but does not believe that peace will be possible over the next generations.

Since July 2005, Rehov appeared on many television channels, including CNN , FOX and MNSBC . In January 2008 , Rehov kept a daily chronicle of events directly from Baghdad . Part of it will be included in his next documentary, The Path to Darkness.

Although Rekhov’s documentaries are convincing and powerful, French television refuses to accept them for broadcast [2] .

However, Rehov found his own way of distributing his films: using the law on freedom of expression in France, he created a political magazine [6] and supplies each copy with a video cassette with his films. The first two issues sold 50,000 copies.

In 2008, Pierre Rehov moved to the United States and now lives in the New York area .
