History and Celebration of Banking Worker Day in Russia
On December 2, 1990, an important event occurred: in the RSFSR the law “On the Central Bank of the Russian Federation” was adopted [1] . Also on December 2, 1990, another Federal Law No. 395-1 “On Banks and Banking Activities” was adopted.
Despite the fact that the “Banking Worker Day of Russia” is not approved at the state level, some high-ranking Russian officials do not forget to congratulate the banking sector employees. So, in 2008, the governor of the Kurgan region Oleg Alekseevich Bogomolov signed up for the following joint appeal:
A professional holiday confirms the important role of the banking system in the life of our country. The developed banking system contributes to the strengthening of domestic business and saving citizens' money, provides high-quality services to the activities of manufacturers in all spheres and sectors of the economy, and helps ensure the financial stability of the state [2] .
