In 2011, she participated in the Venice Biennale , exhibiting in the Polish pavilion (Yaeli Bartana does not have Polish citizenship, and she never lived in Poland ) a video film in three parts “And Europe will be shocked.” The trilogy describes the fictional Jewish Revival Movement, which decides to return to Poland and establish its settlement there. The leader of the movement is the real politician and left intellectual Slawomir Serakovsky . The film is simultaneously sort of agitating for this movement and deconstructing the political idea of reviving something.

Before the Biennale, the film “And Europe will be shocked” was shown at the Museum of Modern Art in Malmö ( 2010 ), and later - in Moscow as part of the “Audience Moscow” program developed by Ekaterina Dyogot, Ioannaya Mytkovskaya and David Riff (September — October 2011).
