Mironositskaya street (Kharkov)

Mironositskaya Street ( Equality and Brotherhood Street (1921-1930s), Dzerzhinsky Street ( 1930s - 1993) is one of the main streets of Kharkov , located between Sumskaya and Pushkinskaya Streets. Mironositskaya Street starts from Zhon Mironosits Street and, continuing the direction of Gogol Street , it merges with Chernyshevskaya near May 1. This street got its name from the Mironositskaya (Krestovozdvizhenskaya) church located at the intersection of Sumskaya and Skripnik streets (it was destroyed in 1930 ).

Monuments

House of the People's Commissariat of Labor

House on the street Mironositskaya, 1 was built in 1925 for the People’s Commissariat of Labor . Its reinforced concrete monolithic facades with brick filling remotely resemble the motives of Ukrainian folk architecture. After 1934 and the transfer of the People's Commissariat of Labor to Kiev , the Kharkov Regional Party Committee was located here. Now here is one of the faculties of KNU. V. Karazin .

SBU Regional Office Building

On the opposite side of the street is a monumental five-story building. It was built in 1962 for the Kharkov State Security Committee of the Republic of the Ukrainian SSR . Now there is the Security Service of Ukraine .

Palace of the Newborns

On the corner of st. Mironositskaya 11 and Girshman Street is a small neo - Renaissance mansion built at the end of the 19th century. for professor V.P. Buzeskul . Now here is the Palace of the Newborn.

Hirschman Mansion

On the opposite corner is the former mansion of the ophthalmologist L. Hirschman (architect I. Ginsh, 1879 ). In subsequent years, the building was built on two floors.

Further on both sides of the Mironositskaya are buildings for various purposes, made in different styles. The house at 44 Mironositskaya (architects S. Timoshenko, P. Shirshov and P. Sokolov; 1912 - 1914 ), was built in the Art Nouveau style for the entrepreneur Boyko. The original appearance of the building, on the interior decoration of which the artists S. Vasilkovsky and N. Samokish worked, was changed by a subsequent superstructure. The ATC building was made in a different style on the corner of Mironositskaya and Ivanov Streets - it was built in the classic constructivist version of the 1920s.

Mansion of the Swedish Consul Münch

On the corner of Mironositskaya and Karazin Street there is an Art Nouveau mansion belonging to the Swedish consul Münch (built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries). At the intersection of Mironositskaya and Oles Gonchar Street there is the building of the L. Girshman Ophthalmological Clinic, built in 1911 - 1912 . Art Nouveau designed by L. Terven.

Women's Medical Courses Building

At the address Mironositskaya, 92 is the building of Women's Medical Courses (now the educational building of the Technical University of Agriculture ), built in 1914 according to the project of academician of architecture A. Beketov .
