Red Bull Flugtag (Red Bull Flygtag) - homemade aircraft championship . “Flugtag” in translation means “Flight Day”.
The first championship was held in 1991 in Austria [1] with the sponsorship of Red Bull as part of the marketing project of Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz.

Aircraft requirements
Aircraft have strict limitations - the size is not more than 9 m and the weight is not more than 200 kg, [2] not counting the pilot. In total in team, including the pilot, there can be no more than 5 people. [2] The engine can only be the muscular force of the pilot. The device should be non-sinking, and made only from environmentally friendly materials. As a rule, the vehicles are launched from a pier 30 feet high above the water. Most of the presented devices can not fly at all, and their "flights" (simply falling into the water) serve entertainment purposes.
The competition is held in three nominations: flight distance (record 78.64 m), creativity and show talent.
For the first time such an event was held in 1971 in England. And since 1991, when the competition was headed by Red Bull [3] , it is held in different cities of the world once every 3 years. At the moment, held every two years in Russia, in addition, held in other countries.
Red Bull Flygtag in Russia
In Russia, the championship was held for the first time in 2009 in the Stroginsky floodplain [4] , where it was held until 2013 [5] . Later, in 2015, the championship was moved to the Rowing [6] channel in Krylatskoye, where it takes place every two years. In 2019, the Red Bull Flugtag was held in Moscow on July 28, at which the “Time Flies” team set a new Russian flight record with a length of 33 meters. [3] .
