Description
The law on the use of State symbols of the Republic of Kosovo , which regulates the use of the flag of the Republic of Kosovo , was adopted by a decision of the Parliament of Kosovo on February 20, 2008 and promulgated by a presidential decree on June 15, 2008 [2] .
| The flag of the Republic of Kosovo is a blue cloth with the golden silhouette of the Republic of Kosovo depicted on it, with six silver five-pointed stars , arched above the silhouette of the Republic of Kosovo . Six silver five-pointed stars symbolize the six peoples living in the republic - Albanians , Bosniaks , Gorans , Serbs , Turks and Gypsies [3] . |

Flag Approval
The flag of the Republic of Kosovo emerged as a result of an international competition for the best design of the flag and emblem of the Republic of Kosovo. The competition, announced by the Provisional Institutions of Kosovo, was attended by about a thousand people from around the world [4] . The main requirements for the draft of the new flag were not to use the colors and symbols of the Albanians or any other ethnic group living in Kosovo [5] . Of the projects submitted for discussion, three were selected as the best.

As a result of a parliamentary vote on February 17, 2008, the first version of the draft flag was chosen the best, the design of which was somewhat modified by the addition of a sixth star, and the stars placed an arc over the silhouette of the Republic of Kosovo [7] . Modern design, based on the existing project, was developed by Muhamer Ibrahimi [8] . On February 20, 2008, the Law on the Use of State Symbols of the Republic of Kosovo was adopted by a decision of the Parliament of Kosovo . On June 15, 2008, the law was promulgated by a Decree of the President of the Republic of Kosovo [2] .
