Biography
Born, according to some sources, in 1843, according to others - in 1844 in Kherson .
As a student at the Medico-Surgical Academy , he participated in student unrest of 1868–1869, was engaged in the drafting of proclamations , for which he was arrested and imprisoned in the Peter and Paul Fortress . March 29, 1869 was sent by order of the chief of gendarmes to their homeland, in Kherson province, under the supervision of the police. After being released in December 1871, he received permission for universal residence from supervision. In July 1872, A. V. Korvatsky received permission to travel abroad.
In 1877 he completed the course with the title of doctor (1877). In the early 1900s, Korvatsky served as a doctor in Melitopol. In addition to medical practice, was engaged in experienced gardening [1] , as well as hydrogeological studies. He founded an experimental garden and nursery, discovered the field of curative mineral water [2] .
He died in 1907 in Melitopol.
Memory
In 2005, a monument to Korvatsky was unveiled in Melitopol, on Bogdan Khmelnitsky Avenue .
Orchards in the neighborhood are popularly called gardens Korvatskogo. The passage leading to them recently received the name of the Corvatsky passage .
