Oshima, Yumiko

Yumiko Oshima ( Japanese. 大 島 弓子 O: Sima Yumiko , b. August 31, 1947 ) - mangaka , part of the " Union of 24 years " [1] [2] . It is one of the most famous mangas that laid the foundations of shojo manga [3] . Her first professional work was Paula no Namida (1968) in Margaret magazine [4] . In 1978, she received the Kodansha Publishing House Prize in the Shojo category for the Wata no Kuni Hoshi manga [5] , and in 2008, the Tezuki Osamu Prize for cultural achievements in the Short History category for Cher Gou-Gou ... mon petit chat, mon petit ami ”(a short story included in the Guu-guu Datte Neko De Aru series) [6] . It is believed that Oshima, thanks to the manga Wata no Kuni Hoshi , made popular Nekomimi [7] .
