Geography
The province of South Lund is located in the eastern part of Angola, 700 kilometers east of Luanda . To the north lies the province of Northern Lund , to the south - the provinces of Moxico and Bié , to the west - the province of Malange . In the east of South Lund lies the state border between Angola and the Democratic Republic of the Congo . The area of the province is 45,649 km² [4] .
The territory of South Lund is occupied mainly by dry savannas. Only in the valley of the Kasai River , in the eastern and southern parts of the province, tropical forests survive. Another important river of the province is Quango .

As of 2014, the population of the province was 516,077 people [1] .

Economy
The main agricultural crop produced in Lund South is peanuts. Corn is also grown in the south. Other important foods are rice and manioc. In the province of South Lund, diamond, manganese and iron ore deposits are discovered and are being developed. The strategically important route Luanda - Lubumbashi passes through the province from west to east.
