Cadour (Cad) Merad was born in Algeria on March 27, 1964 . He was the third child in the family of Algerian Mohamed Merad (who came to France at the age of 16 and became a worker in a company that manufactured freight cars near the city of Saint-Etienne ) and Frenchwoman Janine Begen (a native of the Berry province in Central France, a hairdresser, and then a housewife after birth of children), but did not live long at home, all his childhood passed in France. Cad Merad divorced Emmanuel Cosso-Merad, songwriter and writer with whom he lived since 1992. From a joint marriage, they have a son Khalil (born 2004). Since 2014, the actor has been in a relationship with Julia Vignali.
