Career
Club
He spent his entire football career at the Neftchi club (Baku) , but did not achieve big victories with her. He played 319 matches for Neftchi and scored 1 goal in the USSR Championship , played 10 matches in the USSR Cup and 14 matches in the Federation Cup , where in 1988 Neftchi reached the final. He played two seasons in the championship of Azerbaijan - in 1992 and 1993/94.
Coaching
He began his coaching career at the Shafa club, where he worked as an assistant to Vagif Sadikhov [1] . Then he coached the youth team of Azerbaijan , which took 5th place in the qualifying group of the European Youth Championship [2] . He also temporarily led the first national team of Azerbaijan [3] . In 2002, Sadykov led the Azerbaijani team and took his assistants to his team, including Abdullaev [4] . October 25, 2002, after the resignation of Sadykov, Abdullaev was temporarily appointed coach of the national team [5] ; after several successful matches, on May 17, 2003 , Abdullaev was officially approved as the head coach of the national team [6] [7] . Under the leadership of Abdullaev, the team drew away and outplayed the Serbian team at home, for which the head coach of the team received the nickname "Serbian executioner" [8] . After being appointed head coach of the Brazilian national team, Carlos Alberto worked as his assistant [9] . In 2005, he was appointed head coach of the Baku club and in the first season he won the Azerbaijan Cup with the team, but the next season he resigned after a draw with an outsider of the championship , the Gyazan club [10] . In the same season, “Baku” became the champion of the country. On June 1, 2006 he was appointed head coach of the Olympic Shuvalan club [11] , replacing the dismissed Petar Kurchibich . I was able to make one of the leaders of Azerbaijani football from an outsider club. In 2008, he won silver medals of the Azerbaijan Championship with Olimpik [12] . After this success, he was recognized as the best coach of the season in Azerbaijan [13] .
