Album Creation and Release
The album featured such hip-hop “veterans” as Birdman and Kurupt , as well as the young performers of the Cash Money Records label , Curren $ y and Nikki Kynard.
Tha Carter II debuted on the Billboard 200 in second place after the Curtain Call: The Hits album, by Eminem , who was the leader in the charts at the time. The album was the first work released by the label Cash Money , in which Manny Fresh did not participate, which had long been engaged in producing albums for the label. The first single from the album was “Fireman” . The video for it was premiered on the BET channel in the Access Granted program on September 22, 2005. The second single is “Hustler Musik” . The third single was "Shooter" , recorded with the participation of Robin Tick (the song also appeared on his album).
The album received a “platinum status” in the United States and sold over 1 million copies. By September 2009, sales totaled 1,547,000 copies sold.
