Namibe [2] ( port. Namibe ) - province [3] in Angola . During the Portuguese rule, the province of Namibe was called Mosamelish . The administrative center is the city of Mosamedish . The second largest city in the province is Tombois (formerly Porto Aleshandri ).

Geography
The province of Namibe is located in the far south-west of Angola. To the north of it lies the province of Benguela , to the east - the province of Huila , to the south-east - the province of Cunene . In the south of Namibe lies the state border between Angola and Namibia . In the west, its territory is washed by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean .
The area of the province is 58,137 km² [4] . Much of the province of Namib is occupied by the Namib Desert . On the territory of this province is located the Iona National Park (with an area of 15 150 km²) - the largest natural reserve of Angola.
Population
As of 2014, the population of the province was 471,613 people [1] . The province is inhabited mainly by Herero and representatives of the Khoisan nationalities .
