De Silvestri is an example of very effective youth work at Lazio . He first appeared on the main team in the 2006/07 season, playing twice in the championship.

His first appearance on the main team took place in the Intertoto Cup match in 2005, when Lorenzo was 17 years old. His debut in the Italian tournament was a year later, in the Italian Cup against Rende , where Lazio won 4-0, the fourth goal in the match was scored by De Silvestri.

Lorenzo made his debut in Serie A , replacing April 22, 2007 in a home game against Fiorentina, which his club lost 0-1. He played his second match for Lazio in the penultimate round against Parma at the Roman Olympic Stadium .

In the 2007/08 season, De Silvestri regularly appeared on the right flank of the Lazio defense, standing out for his excellent attack connections. He spent 24 matches in Serie A and 6 matches in the Champions League , of which three in the starting lineup.

On December 19, 2007, a year after his debut against Rende, De Silvestri again scored in the Italian Cup, this time in a match against Napoli . He dedicated his goal to his close friend and Lazio fan Gabriele Sandry, who was killed by a policeman near Arezzo ^[1] .

Since his debut, Lorenzo has progressed more and more under the guidance of coach Delio Rossi , but in 2009 a conflict arose between De Silvestri and the club’s management, probably related to the signing of a new contract. As a result, on August 26, De Silvestri moved to Fiorentina. Lorenzo played his first match with Fiorentina on September 26 against Livorno , in which the Florentines won 1-0.
