Shipwreck - a catastrophe that occurred with a ship , usually leading to its severe destruction or death. A shipwreck is understood to mean complete or partial flooding of a ship, damage to significant parts of a ship or a violation of buoyancy that occurred as a result of external or internal factors or objects.
As a result of a shipwreck, the vessel cannot be used for its intended purpose without significant repairs.
The UN cites statistics on more than three million shipwrecks that occurred during the history of our civilization.
