History
In the 1990s , the Orthodox community was registered in Reutov. Due to the lack of a temple in the city, services were performed in the apartment of a residential building. July 21, 1996 in the southern part of the city, with the laying of a memorial stone, the construction of the church in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God began . The construction was carried out with the donations of citizens, private entrepreneurs, organizations and enterprises, and with the active participation of the head of the city, Alexander Nikolayevich Khodyrev .
On October 3, 1999, the Kazan Church was consecrated by Metropolitan Jurassic of Krutitsy and Kolomenskoye , co-served by Archbishop Grigory of Mozhaisk and Bishop Tikhon of Vidnov. In 2001, the chapel was consecrated in the name of the Cathedral of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia . On September 20, 2003, the holy relics of the holy martyrs Alexander and Theodore were placed in the church for worship. The Kazan temple also contains the ark with a particle of the holy relics of St. Seraphim of Sarov and two reliquaries with the holy relics of some Russian saints and holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia [1] .
The church community publishes a free newspaper, Reutovsky Blagovest, for donations from parishioners, publishes the Reutov Orthodox magazine and a library of Orthodox literature. There is a Sunday school for children at the church. For those who wish to receive the Sacraments of Baptism and Wedding, catechism is held on Saturdays and Sundays in the church.
