Gofintendantsky office - in the Russian Empire, part of the Ministry of the Imperial Court , in charge of all construction and economic issues of the imperial court. History
On March 3, 1732, the post of commander of the quartermaster was established, which was responsible for the construction and maintenance of palace buildings on September 1, 1832 [3] .
On March 12, 1746, the Hoff quartermaster's office was subordinated to the Chancellery of buildings (since 1769 it was renamed to the Office of buildings of e. I.... Houses and gardens). And on March 7, 1797, the reverse subordination took place, and the Office from the buildings was transformed into the Hoff quartermaster office [3] .
In the first quarter of the 19th century, the Tsarskoye Selo Palace Directorate (April 23, 1817), the Peterhof Palace Directorate (June 7, 1817), and the construction management on Kamenny Island (January 9, 1825) were sequentially withdrawn from the office. [3] .
On December 15, 1826, the staff and affairs of the Chamber-Tsalmeister part for the decoration of buildings were transferred from the Court Office to the Gof quartermaster’s office (from March 14, 1827 - the palace Quartermaster part) [3] .
The charter of the Gof quartermaster’s office was approved more than 100 years after its foundation, on March 27, 1833 [3] .
The gof quartermaster’s office was abolished on April 21, 1851, while the administration of the St. Petersburg palaces was transferred to the Court Office, the administration of the Tivdian and Ruskol marble fragments to the Cabinet of E.I. Nikolsky institution ”- Tsarskoye Selo Palace Administration [3] .
Structure
The office was divided into three expeditions .
The first expedition was engaged in the conduct of affairs on personnel, the acquisition of construction teams and artisans, and the preparation of annual estimates. Here, an investigation was carried out and cases of crimes were ex officio, cases of recovery from officials and ministers for private claims, magazines and registers of incoming and outgoing securities [3] .
The second expedition was in charge of construction and repair work, was responsible for the prevention of fires in all subordinate offices of the palace buildings, concluded contracts, was engaged in the procurement of materials and the hiring of free artisans for construction work, the maintenance of greenhouses of gardens and alleys, the monitoring of the condition of palace premises, the arrangement of illuminations, and so on. similar questions. The same expedition managed the artisanal villages under the office, as well as determining the artisans for work and paying them wages. Here, business was conducted in factories, quarries and other industrial establishments of the office; the second expedition carried out storage and sale of marble and products from slate of slate, was in charge of the drawing department, school affairs, artisans and work in the craftsman’s yard, affairs of the post of zalmeister in all palaces and palace buildings, compiling descriptions of things, furniture and utensils located in palaces and palace buildings [3] .
The third expedition led accounting, bookkeeping and treasury affairs [3] .
From March 27, 1833 to April 21, 1851, there was also a general presence (meeting) in the Gof quartermaster office, consisting of the president ( chief-stalmeister ), vice-president and four advisers [2] .
The archive of the gof quartermaster’s office kept the office’s papers for the entire time of its existence [3] .
