(6827) Wombat ( lat. Wombat ) - an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on September 27, 1990 by the Japanese amateur astronomer Takeshi Urata at the Nihondair Observatory and named after the wombat - a small marsupial animal that lives in Australia [1] .
