Rachiya (Grachya) Nersesovich Nersesyan (armenian Հրաչյա Ներսեսի Ներսիսյան ; 1895 - 1961 ) - Armenian Soviet theater and film actor . People's Artist of the USSR ( 1956 ) [1] .

Biography
Rachia Nersesyan (according to other sources, the real name is Kechechyan [2] or Achemyan [3] ) was born on November 12 (24), 1895 in the city of Nicomedia , (now Izmit , Turkey ) in the family of a craftsman [1] [4] .
He studied at French and American colleges, at the Armenian school in Constantinople .
Since 1915, he began to participate in the performances of Armenian drama companies and operettas in Turkey. In 1918 he became an actor of the Armenian Drama Society of Constantinople [4] . During work, creativity was affected by the art of A. Antoine , O.M. Lunye-Po , as well as the Western European tragedy school and at the same time the Viennese operetta.
In 1922 he moved to the USSR with a group of actors ( V. Papazyan , M. Janan, etc.). He performed in Batumi at the Iron Theater.
Since 1923 - actor of the 1st State Theater of Armenia (now the Armenian Theater named after G.M. Sundukyan ) in Yerevan .
Possessed the ability to acute stage reactions, improvisational ease, huge acting charm [4] .
From the 1920s he starred in films (he began in Turkish films). He established himself as a master, transmitting the wealth of the inner world of his heroes through concise external expressive means [5] .
He died on November 6, 1961 in Yerevan [1] . He was buried in the pantheon of Komitas Park .
