Grigory Ilyich Varshavchik ( Gregori I. Warchavchik ; April 2, 1896 , Odessa - 1972 , São Paulo ), better known as Gregory Warsawchik, is a Brazilian architect of origin, one of the most famous modernist architects of Brazil.

Biography
Born in Odessa in the family of Ilya Varshavchik and Sofia Podgaets. He studied architecture at Odessa University. Since 1918 he studied in Rome , at the Institute of Fine Arts, which he graduated in the summer of 1920. In 1922 he designed the Savoy movie theater in Florence. He lived in Brazil since 1923.
Creativity
Among the architectural works of G. Varshavchik are Casa Modernista (Santa Cruz Street, Villa Mariana, São Paulo, 1928), Art Nouveau house (Itapolis, Paquaembu, Sao Paulo , 1930), Art Nouveau house in Rio de Janeiro (1931), Restaurant on the beach of Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro (1932), a residential building on Alameida de Barao Limeira in Sao Paulo.
He was buried in the Jewish cemetery of Vila Mariana in Sao Paulo.
