Mestre Biography
Bahao started training at the age of 10 in the city of Recife in Brazil.
His first Mestre was the Mestre of Piraga . Subsequently, Mestre Tete was his mentor and opened for him "street capoeira" [1] .
After hard training, in 1980 he began teaching himself.
In 1982, he decided to test his skills in fighting the best capoeirista he knew about, and took part in prestigious competitions at the national capoeira championship in Rio de Janeiro . Marcus de Silva won this championship and became the Champion of Brazil. This gave him the opportunity to get a lot of interesting offers. As a result, he opened his own group, calling it the Grupo Axé Capoeira School (Grupo Ax Capoeira). In 1987, Mestre Bajao received the 1st level master from Mestre Piraja. Currently, Mestre is a second-degree master. In 1990, Mestre Bachau was invited to demonstrate capoeira art at the International Children's Festival in North America. Subsequently, the main branch of the Ashe Capoeira Group was opened in Canada (Vancouver).
Masters gathered at Curitiba ( Parana State, Brazil ) in 2000 awarded Bahao the title of Mestre, for his contribution to capoeira, one of the greatest capoeirista of the century [2] He released 7 music CDs and 5 DVDs with educational video materials on capoeira.
