Virgil Nestorescu ( February 8, 1929 , Buzau - June 21, 2018 1 ) - Romanian chess composer ; international master ( 1980 ), grandmaster ( 2001 ) on a chess composition. 12-time national champion in drawing up tasks and etudes. Chairman of the Commission on the chess composition of Romania (since 1972 ), editor of the chess composition of the magazine "Revista Romain de Shah" ( 1954 - 1960 ). Doctor of Philology.

Since 1948, he published 450 compositions, of which 145 are etudes . At the competitions he was awarded 45 first prizes and 220 other prizes and differences. In the studies focuses on rapprochement with the ideas of the practical game.
