Story

Instead of a routine physical examination, Peter goes to lunch with Joe , Cleveland, and Quagmire . Later, Lois still makes him go there, and the doctor diagnoses Peter with obesity , which leads the head of the family into a bad mood.

Peter accidentally breaks a family portrait of Lois, and she discovers another child in the image - her brother (as she is sure). Lois's call to his father does not clarify anything: he does not want to talk about this topic. Stubborn Lois finds her missing brother, Patrick, in a mental hospital .

Confident that Patrick is healthy, Lois seeks his release and settles in his house. Soon Patrick announces that he has a wife, Marion, whom no one except him sees . This convinces Brian and Stewie that he is insane .

Soon, Peter accidentally reminds Patrick of the psychological trauma of his childhood , and now the crazy brother Lois begins to kill fat people.

In the meantime, Peter announces to his family that he is resigned to his obesity and plans to organize the National Association for The Advancement of Fat People (NAAFP ). However, the first meeting of the association fails due to the fact that all those present are too loud champing of junk food .

Carter Pyutershmidt calls Lois, warning that Patrick is dangerous, but she claims that everything is in order. However, she begins to worry about the increasing incidence of fat killings in the city. However, nothing can convince her of Patrick's guilt, not even Brian’s words.

Peter brings the fat men to his house to save them from an unknown killer, but Brian opens his eyes to him: the killer is Patrick; and the killer’s pursuit of the fat men began ...

Brian brings Lois to her brother’s room, she is full of dead and dying fat men, as well as paintings of how Patrick killed them. Only then did Lois hardly accept the truth. Lois and Brian rush to the rescue of Peter, whom Patrick is already strangling in the nearby James forest . Lois threatens to harm Marion, and Patrick lets Peter go. Patrick comes to his senses, says he did not want to harm Lois, and agrees that he has a place in a psychiatric hospital. Family Family is going to visit him once a month.

Interesting Facts

Cultural References

  • Patrick Pieterschmidt’s hatred of fat people is caused by psychological trauma: he witnessed how Gleason Jack seduced his mother, Barbara [2] . Peter, dressing in the form of a bus driver , reminds him of this actor in the image of Ralph Cramden from the series "The Newlyweds " ( 1955 - 1956 ).
  • The scene where Peter is talking with the pie is a reference to the movie American Pie .

Trivia

  • Guest Celebrities:
    • Robert Downey Jr. himself called the producers of the animated series, proposing himself for some role in the new episode, as his son simply loves this show. The producers went to meet the actor, and therefore the role of Patrick Pieterschmidt was written specifically for Downey [3] . The main producer of “Family Guy”, Seth MacFarlane , liked the work of Downey [2] .
    • Bob Barker voices himself, introducing the game “ Question Price ” [2] . It is noteworthy that Barker voiced himself for the second time in the show, but at the same time Seth MacFarlane never met him personally [2] .
  • Deleted Scenes:
    • The song of the fat men at the funeral of another fat man was removed from the TV version of the episode in order to save on-screen time; also to the producers, she seemed somewhat boring to the audience [2] [4] . It can be seen in the DVD version.
    • A scene was removed from the episode in which Peter urinates in his airplane on his seat, on Brian and on the cage with the dog [3] [2] .
  • Seth MacFarlane was surprised that the scene with a cucumber on the couch (very vulgar) the FOX channel management freely allowed to show. He noted that “obviously, they did not fully understand the essence of the scene” [3] [2] .
  • The episode features George W. Bush hiding in a tree from Hurricane Katrina (who inflicted heavy damage to the United States in August 2005). Bush was offered to voice himself here, but he refused [3] .
  • Peter’s NAAFP is a parody of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People ( NAACP ).
  • The scene in which Brian throws a stone at Peter is a reference to the episode " To Love and Die in Dixie " from the third season of the show [2] .
