The sedge graceful , or the sedge harmonious ( lat. Cārex delicāta ) - a grassy plant; a species of the sedge genus of the sedge family ( Cyperaceae ).

MorphologyIt has a shortened rhizome that gives creeping shoots. Stems 50-125 cm tall, bunched in a turf or bump, straight and strong, sharply trihedral, serrated at the corners with a slightly bent inflorescence. The leaves are harsh, flat or slightly wrapped around the edges, almost the same length as the stem. Inflorescence is rare and long, consisting of male and female spikelets .
DistributionIt grows along the banks of swamps, lakes and rivers, along swampy meadows and sosograms, in swampy coniferous and birch forests. It occurs in East Asia (in the west to Kashmir and the mountains of Central Asia ), in North America (the state of Colorado in the USA ) and possibly in Chile . It is found in Altai in the valleys of the Katun River in the vicinity of Chemal , between Gorno-Altaysk and Aleksandrovka, on the Seminsky pass near Artybash and in other places.
