Differences from the Pentax Spotmatic II predecessor camera
The main difference from its predecessor - exposure metering with an open aperture when using lenses series SMC Takumar .
The camera's exposure meter is conjugate in both shutter speed and aperture. A special lead transfers the value of the set aperture from the lens to the camera. By turning the lever around the shutter button, the latter is locked. The meter illuminates the element of type 625 [1] .
Some Specifications
- Self-timer for 6-12 seconds.
- Sync speed - 1/60 sec.
- Executing mechanical shutter speeds: B , 1 - 1/1000 sec.
- Small batches produced kits with motor drive and dating back cover.
- With SMC Takumar lenses, metering is performed at an open aperture with the transfer of the preset value of the lens aperture.
- With earlier lenses, metering is performed only on the working aperture, since these lenses do not have the ability to transmit the value of the preset aperture.
- Built-in and conjugate in exposure and aperture TTL-exposure meter (CdS) EV3-18.
- Focusing screen based on Fresnel's micro - prism lens . Alternate - with Doden wedges
- The meter is displayed in the viewfinder .
- The sensitivity of the film is introduced using a ring located on the drum of the exposure setting in the range of 20-3200 ASA.
- Aperture repeater .
- The photo flash can be connected via a sync cable: X and FP sync are available or via hot-shoe : only X sync is available .
- Ability to install an electric tape mechanism Asahi Pentax Motor Drive.
